Blue Drag aka Nigel MacLean (vln) and Martin Elepans (gtr) have created a superb masterpiece in this collection of all original songs and instrumentals that feature the cream of Australian musicians. This contemporary "manouche" sound is accompanied by lush ballads and uptempo horn arrangements and features Kate Ceberano (vocals) and Joe Chindamo (piano). Blue Drag introduces the young vocal talent Chantal Mitvalsky.There are guest appearances from filmscore maestro David Hirschfelder, Roger Lemke, Carmel Parente and the backing band is driven by Dave Beck (drums) and Frank Di Sario (bass). Other guest musicians include Tony Hicks (wind), Russell Smith (tpt), Gerry Hale (mandolin and banjo) and the 26 piece string section is led by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Wilma Smith.
